All Aboard

All Aboard,

10/27-28/12

Here we are aboard the Royal Clipper. We are currently in the very rough seas due to a small hurricane off the coast of Rome. On board it doesn’t feel so small. The sea is very rough with waves up to twenty-one feet. Needless to say, many of the passengers are very green and there have been a lot of broken dishes. I rarely get seasick but the boat has been so rocky that even I have been pretty queasy. Not a great way to start this part of our journey, but it will get better. The good news is that it is supposed to calm down greatly by this evening – we’ve been in it for two days.  The bad news is that this weather really slows our progress, so we’ve had to skip the first 2 ports of call – Corsica and Ibiza– to stay on schedule. The other good news is that we can (although it is costly) get WI FI (they call it Wee Fee) access on the ship, so I’ll be able to blog away :o)

Not feeling so hot – rocking, rolling and blogging don’t go so well together, so I think I’ll go lie down (uggg),

Charli
